Star Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal created history during the first Test match between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium with a stunning century which laid the foundation for a record-breaking 295-run victory for the Jasprit Bumrah-led side. After being dismissed for a duck by Mitchell Starc in the first innings, Jaiswal made no errors in the second innings as him and KL Rahul put up a marthon 201-run opening partnership. Jaiswal made a big knock of 161 as India posted a total of 487 on the board and set Australia a huge target of 532 runs with support from Virat Kohli (100*) and Rahul (77).

By virtue of his incredible effort in Perth, Jaiswal wrote his name to become just the second player in Test cricket history (first Indian) after Graeme Smith to convert each of his first four centuries to a 150+ score.

The 22-year-old scored a ton on his Test debut against West Indies last year and ended up making a huge score of 171. His second and third ton against England came in back-to-back Test matches in February at Visakhapatnam and Rajkot respectively. He converted both innings to double centuries and became only the second Indian after Virat Kohli to score consecutive double tons in the same series. No other Indian had achieved the feat even on their first three centuries.
Smith achieved the feat in 2002 and 2003 after scoring a knock of 200 against Bangladesh and a knock of 151 against Pakistan Later, he scored back-to-back double tons against England at Edgabaston and Lord's.
So far, Jaiswal has played 15 Test matches for India and scored 1568 runs with an average of 58.1.
