The 70th National Film Awards are happening today (October 8) at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi. With stars like Mithun Chakraborty, Neena Gupta, Manoj Bajpayee and more marking their attendance. At the ceremony, Yami Gautam's father, filmmaker Mukesh Gautam bagged the prestigious Best Punjabi Film award for his 2022 filmBaghi Di Dhee. An emotional Yami, who has been a “proud daughter,” took to social media to share her excitement, saying “emotions can’t be put into words.”

Taking to her official Instagram handle, Yami posted heartfelt pictures of her father receiving the award from President Droupadi Murmu, capturing the moment live from her TV screen. In the caption, she expressed how watching her dad’s achievement moved her deeply, calling it one of the toughest journeys she’s witnessed.
“Very emotional moment as my father, Shri Mukesh Gautam, received his first National Award, as a director, for his film – ‘Baghi Di Dhee’ .Emotions cannot be poured in words. I am such a proud daughter. My father’s journey till here has been one of the hardest journeys I have seen & yet couldn’t deter him from his consistent passion for work & immense honesty in ethics. Your family is proud of you, papa. A special mention to @rabindra.narayan & @jasrajsinghbhatti for being a fantastic team ” Yami wrote, adding how his unwavering passion and work ethic have always inspired her.
