President-elect Donald Trump has confirmed three major cabinet members – Tom Homan ('border czar'), Susie Wiles (Chief of staff) and Elise Stefanik (UN ambassador). The Republican is expected to announce Stephen Miller as his deputy chief of staff on policy. All of these appointments fit in a pattern and a plan Trump has been talking about since launching his 2024 bid.

Stephen Miller: A former Trump adviser, Miller has been vocal about his anti-immigrant stance. During his 2017-2021 term, the 39-year-old pushed policies and initiatives like construction of a wall on the US-Mexico border, banning people from certain Muslim-majority countries and a controversial boder policy to separate thousands of migrant families. He has also been linked to Project 2025.

Tom Homan: Trump announced Homan’s appointment on Truth Social. “I am pleased to announce that the Former ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) Director, and stalwart on Border Control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration, in charge of our Nation’s Borders (“The Border Czar”), including, but not limited to, the Southern Border, the Northern Border, all Maritime, and Aviation Security.”
In an old video, which went viral after his appointment, Tom Homan could be seen saying that 'families could be deported together'.

“I don’t care what anybody’s opinions like illegal immigration. When you create a crisis this big, all these other bad things happen. That’s what we have to secure the border," Homan said on Fox & Friends. “I’ve been clear. President Trump’s been clear. Public safety threats and national security threats will be the priority because they have to be, they pose the most danger in this country."

Elise Stefanik: The New York Rep led the questioning of the presidents of three Ivy League universities after anti-Israel student protests, which she referred to as ‘anti-Semitism’. She also slammed the United Nations for its criticism of Israel. In a letter to Biden, Stefanik said his administration was being weak in supporting Tel Aviv.
In all, Trump's cabinet picks echo his plans on immigration and Israel. The president-elect slammed the Biden-Harris administration for both issues, claiming that he would orchestrate the 'largest mass-deportation' operation in history.
