India had a shocking start to the 146-run chase in the third Test at the Wankhede Stadium. The target didn't seem big on paper, but it was always going to be a tough chase given the conditions. India needed a good start, but they didn't get one as Rohit Sharma departed for just 11 runs. Rohit looked unsettled and played a rash shot to get out. Rohit wanted to take the attack to New Zealand, but the approach backfired. The conditions were tough but not unplayable and cricket pundits feel Rohit could have stayed for a bit longer.
The Indian captain's approach to the chase left renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle disappointed. Harsha took to X and highlighted Rohit Sharma's struggle in the home season where he managed to score just 133 runs in 10 innings.
"Trying to get my head round Rohit Sharma's approach. Struggling. That was a wicket on a platter and ends a disappointing home season for him with 133 in 10 innings," wrote Harsha Bhogle.
