Why Venezuela Has Issued Arrest Warrant For Opposition Leader Edmundo Gonzalez

Venezuela's public ministry on Monday issued a warrant for the arrest of Edmundo Gonzalez, the opposition leader, for multiple alleged crimes against the Venezuelan state.

These crimes include usurpation of functions, forgery of public documents, incitement to disobey laws, conspiracy, sabotage of systems, and association with organized crime.

These charges fall under the Venezuelan Penal Code, the Cybercrime Law and the Organic Law Against Organized Crime and Financing of Terrorism.
