Ottawa, Canada– Rishi Nagar, a prominent Canadian radio editor at FM Calgary survived an attack from unidentified youngsters on his way to the Rio Banquet Hall.
In CCTV footage extracted by CNN- News 18, it can be seen that the group is fiercely attacking the radio journalist. The attack comes after Nagar condemned many Khalistani acts that took place in the past. Soon after the attack, cops reached the spot immediately and rescued Nagar from the situation.
A similar situation also took place the previous week, when a businessman got a random call similar to the escalating tensions at the Dashmesh Gurudwara. The incident has sparked concerns regarding the minorities’s safety in the country. Moreover, referring to the radio journalist incident, there have been rising concerns regarding the safety of journalists in Canada and freedom of press in the nation as per reports. Furthermore, there has been an increase in the number of assaults on media personnel by Khalistanis; the reason being “for not following their line”.

Meanwhile, the founder cum president of Canada India foundation, Maninder Singh Gill condemned the assault on the radio editor and urged strict actions for the culprits.
The Khalistani movement has escalated in a span of few months therefore worrying the Government of India. In light of the incidents happening in Canada, the Indian government has called for Canada to take strong measures against such groups especially anti India troops who are posing a huge threat to good international relations that India has with other countries.
