A sheriff has been taken into custody in relation to the incident, according to The Mountain Eagle, after police reacted to a gunshot at the Letcher County Courthouse on Thursday. Police have confirmed that Judge Mullins is no more. Also, they've pinpointed Stines as the culprit in the incident.
According to the post, District Judge Kevin Mullins was shot by the sheriff, who was identified as Mickey Stines, in his district office. Lockdowns were imposed on the local Letcher County Schools. Students are still not allowed to go for home as of 3:30 p.m.
