When The Phone Rings continues to climb the ladder of viewership. Just in its second weekend, and post the release of its third episode on November 29, it ratings soared to its highest so far. The Netflix drama is grabbing eyeballs for its intriguing storyline and intense chemistry between the lead pair, Yoo Yeon-Seok and Chae Soo-Bin.
As the plot thickens, its ever-growing audiences have started cracking brains around the suspense and what lies ahead in the K-drama.

By the end of third episode, Yoo Yeon-Seok's Baek Sa-Eon publically accepts Hong Hee-Joo, played by Chae Soo-Bin as his wife, leaving fans enthralled. But, many have started guessing who the real villain is. And most of the theories come down to point at Park Do-Jae.
Who is Park Do-Jae?
Played by actor Choi Woo-Jin, he is a special administrative officer who most closely assists Sa-Eon. He is the most reliable man for Sa-Eon as he carries out any order. He is like a secret agent, capable of doing anything. As of now in the story, he is helping Sa-Eon in tracking the caller.
What does fan-theories say?
Fans on social media are suspicious given both the kidnapper in the first episode and Park Do-Jae have similar eyes. They are also doubting Do-Jae's intentions and how most of the occurences with the caller (his partner in crime) take place when he is around. His conversation with Sa-Eon are also leaving many guessing.
When The Phone Rings: Recap
The story so far showed Sa-Eon getting threatening calls from a man who made the failed attempt at kidnapping his wife Hee-Joo in the first episode. While the pilot episode ended with the first big reveal of Hee-Joo getting hold of the kidnapper's phone and blackmailing her own husband to "divorce his wife."
From Sa-Eon's growing concern and unspoken possessiveness for his wife, to his office facing a bomb blast, and the plot getting intertwined within the couple's personal feelings towards each other which they've not expressed so far, a lot happened in the following episodes.

The third episode showed the bomber who started threatening Hee-Joo for the phone for her personal requirement. He ends up pushing her to continue doing that if she wants the well-being of her biological father. With much more plotting in his mind, audience is sure the kidnapper has an accomplice (Park Do-Jae?) with an ulterior motive.
