Rovman Powell-led West Indies chased down the target of 176 in the series opener with ease and lead the series 1-0 Opting to bowl first, WI gained early advantage by scalping 3 wickets in the powerplay.
Courtesy of Tristan Stubbs' brilliant 76 off 42 balls, SA breached the 150-run mark. Patrick Kruger also played his past in the big total and scored 44 off 32 balls. Matthew Forde scalped 3 wickets while Shamar Joseph dismissed 2 batsmen.
WI were off to a flying start and the opening pair of Alick Athanaze (40) and Shai Hope (51) added 84 runs for the first wicket. Nicholas Pooran took over the charge after the fall of the first wicket and he remained unbeaten on 65 off just 26 balls.
