Real-Life Weight Loss Story: Age is just a number when it comes to achieving your goals, be it personal or professional and Mrs Prabha Tiwari is a living example of it. At 61 (now 64) she decided to take charge of her life and started her weight loss transformation journey. “At age 60, I faced a turning point. A slip in the bathroom left me with knee pain that my doctor said I would have to live with for life. Due to inactivity, I started gaining weight which led to thyroid and sugar issues. My daughter Manisha, however, had been on her own fitness journey with FITTR, and her incredible transformation made me wonder if there was hope for me too,” she said.

Prabha’s daughter Manisha had completed her diploma in nutrition and fitness from INFS, and with her encouragement, she started her weight loss journey. Initially, it was just small exercises at home using a few dumbbells, but those small steps gave Prabha strength. Soon, she joined the gym and began a dedicated workout routine. When Prabha started her weight loss transformation journey she weighed 73.4 kg, and now she weighs 53 kg. “By 62, I achieved something I never thought possible – I won the state powerlifting gold medal in Gujarat,” Prabha said.

“Now I regularly train at the gym confidently and live a pain-free life. My new life gave me confidence that I learned how to drive a car and swim. FITTR and Manisha changed my life in ways I could never imagine. I will always be indebted and thankful to them,” she further said.

What Inspired You To Embark On This Journey?

Our role models and inspirations are our parents most of the time as we grow up looking up to them, and how they handle situations as it show us the path in future. However, Prabha got inspiration and the courage to make a change in her life through her daughter. “My daughter Manisha was my biggest inspiration. She transformed herself first, showing me the power of fitness. With her expertise and support, I began weight training, started taking balanced nutrition, and slowly started to see changes in my body and mindset,” she shares.

Biggest Challenges You Faced Along The Way?

“It was hard for me to accept the concept of weight training at first. With family responsibilities, staying consistent wasn’t easy either, and giving up cravings was challenging. But seeing real results helped me overcome these barriers,’ she said.

How Did You Stay Motivated Throughout Your Weight Loss Journey?

For Prabha it was not a weight loss transformation journey, it was about meeting a stronger version of herself each day. “Every small gain in strength, every drop in pain, and every step toward better health motivated me to keep going. Manisha’s constant support kept me on track, she never let me fall (vo mujhe girne nahi deti thi) making consistency my focus over motivation.

Diet And Exercise Regimen Followed During Your Transformation

Prabha’s coach at FITTR and her daughter Manisha made a personalised diet for Prabha that met her needs. “I was having a balanced protein-rich diet with proper hydration, sleep and 6 days of strength training exercise all done by my coach and daughter Manisha Tiwari,” she shares.

Did You Encounter Any Setbacks, And If So, How Did You Overcome Them?

“Thankfully, I never looked back once I began. My daughter was always there, supporting me through any moments of doubt,” she said.

What Advice Do You Have For Others Who Are Looking To Embark On A Similar Transformation Journey?

Prabha shares, that if you love your family, staying healthy is a responsibility. Fitness isn’t a choice; it’s a necessity. “God gave us life to live – not just to survive (Fitness choice nahi jarurat hai jise samajhna bahut zaruri hai and sabse badi baat, bhagwan ne jindagi jeene ke liye di hai katne ke liye nahi)” she said.

How Has Your Life Changed Since Achieving Your Weight Loss Goals?

“This journey was more than just weight loss; it was a journey of self-worth and growth. My thyroid and sugar medications are gone, my knee pain has vanished, and I can wear clothes I once only dreamed of. My transformation inspires others, and that recognition is my biggest reward,” Prabha shares.
