India skipper Rohit Sharma revealed that during a crunch situation in the T20 World Cup final, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant used a tactic that he believed might have led India to win the game. He said that Pant's presence of mind played a role in disrupting the South African batters' rhythm, which might have led them to lose focus and eventually the final.
Rohit-led India defeated South Africa by seven runs in an edge-of-the-seat thrilling final of the T20 World Cup in June at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. South Africa required just 30 runs off as many deliveries when Pant came into action and ensured there was a break in the game.
Rohit recalled the young wicketkeeper's strategies that had an impact on the match. In just the second over after this break, the hard-hitting Heinrich Klaasen lost his wicket.

"They had a lot of wickets left and set batters were on the group. We were feeling the tension, we were scared as well, but a captain needs to have a strong face at that moment. No one knows this but when 30 were needed in 30 [26 in 24], there was a small break," Rohit said while speaking on The Kapil Sharma Show.
"Rishabh Pant used his brains and stopped the game, saying he has a niggle in his knee and started taping it. At that moment, the batter wants the ball to be bowled quickly because he is in flow. We needed to break the rhythm," Rohit added.
The India skipper said 'Pant used his brains and India won', with a big smile on his face.
