New Delhi: Residents of parts of West Delhi will experience a disruption in water supply for 16 hours on October 1 and 2, according to an official statement from the Delhi Jal Board (DJB). The affected areas include Varun Niketan, Raja Garden, Ramesh Nagar, Khyala, Rani Bagh, Moti Nagar, Shanta Puri, Tagore Garden, Tilak Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Hari Nagar, and surrounding regions.
The water supply interruption is due to major repair work on the 1100 mm diameter header line that feeds into the West Delhi Main and the Pitampura Main at the Haiderpur Phase-I Water Treatment Plant. Water supply will be unavailable or at low pressure from 10 AM on October 1 until 2 AM on October 2.
The DJB has advised residents to store an adequate amount of water in advance to meet their needs during this period. Additionally, water tankers will be available on request through the DJB helpline or the central control room.
In another news, the Delhi Police on Monday banned the gathering of five or more persons, people carrying banners, placards, arms, and/or protests in the central part and bordering areas for the next six days in the national capital, citing law and order issues, including calls of protests given by several organisations.
According to an order issued from the Delhi Police Headquarters, Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has directed to impose Section 163 of BNSS. The prohibitory will remain effective till October 5, the order stated.
