Mumbai: The excitement is only building up around the Ganesh Chaturthi festival with the 10-day celebration beginning on Saturday (Sept 7). Though there is no scale to measure the enthusiasm of devotees for their beloved Ganpati Bappa, the donation given to Mumbai’s famous Lalbaugcha Raja hints at their devotion towards Lord Ganesha.
The donations received on the first day of the Ganesh Chaturthi Festival 2024 were counted at Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal and it has amounted to Rs 48 lakh 30 thousand, said Mangesh Dattaram Dalvi, Treasurer, Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal on Sunday.

From eco-friendly Ganesha to one like Ayodhya Ram Lalla and other draped in a black dress representing the fight against violence against women.
Meanwhile, on the second day of Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees flocked to Lalbaugcha Raja in Mumbai early morning to participate in the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. The iconic Ganesh idol is a central attraction during this vibrant festival as thousands of worshippers seek blessings from the deity.
The first look of the Lalbaugcha Raja was unveiled on the evening of September 5. The festival, one of Mumbai's most anticipated events will continue till September 17. Notably, ANI stated that Lalbaugcha Raja Ganapati idol has been a symbol of faith and devotion since its inception in 1934.
In Chennai, BJP members and leaders unveiled a magnificent replica of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir for Ganesh Chaturthi. This replica, revealed during the festival, closely resembles Ram Lalla, whose 'Pran Pratishta' was done in Ayodhya on January 22.
An idol of Lord Ganesh was made in which Ganpati is seated on the replica of LCA Tejas Mark 1A fighter jet at a residence in Mumbai. The designer who designed this said that he builds the idols each year based on the developments that took place in India that year.
