BJP MP from Kurukshetra, Naveen Jindal, made a distinctive entrance at the Haryana Assembly elections on Saturday, arriving at the polling station on horseback. He described this gesture as auspicious, reflecting a deep-rooted tradition in the region.

After casting his vote, Jindal expressed confidence in the BJP's prospects, stating, "There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people. Jindal's arrival on horseback garnered attention, symbolising his connection to local customs and resonating with voters. "I came here riding on a horse as it is considered auspicious," he noted. He also mentioned his mother, Savitri Jindal, who is contesting from Hisar, emphasising her commitment to serving the constituency. "The people of Hisar will decide whom they want as their representative," he added.

As the voting commenced for all 90 assembly seats, early turnout data indicated a 9.53 per cent voter participation by 9 AM. Jindal's constituency recorded the highest turnout at 12.71 per cent, followed closely by Palwal at 12.45 per cent.

Meanwhile, Union Minister and former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched an attack on the Congress party shortly after voting, accusing it of spreading misinformation and highlighting the BJP's achievements in increasing employment opportunities in the state.

This election is crucial for the BJP, which is seeking a third consecutive term amid a competitive landscape, with the Congress aiming to reclaim power and other parties, such as the Aam Aadmi Party and the INLD-BSP alliance, also vying for influence. A total of 1,031 candidates are contesting across 20,632 polling booths, with results set to be announced on October 8, alongside those from Jammu and Kashmir.
