Virender Sehwag's son, Aaryavir slammed a brilliant double-century on the second day of the Cooch Behar Trophy fixture against Meghalaya. The right-handed batsman opened the innings with Arnav Bugga. The Delhi duo provided a dream start to the visiting team and added 180 runs for the first wicket. Arnav scored 114 off 108 balls before getting bowled.
Aaryavir continued to punish the bowlers and finished the second day with an unbeaten 200 off just 229 balls. He has slammed 34 boundaries and 2 sixes in his innings so far. Aaryavir will now aim to score a triple-century on the third day.
Delhi have a big 208-run lead and they can bat for another day as it's a four-day fixture. Dhanya Nakra finished the day with a score of 98 and is just 2 runs away from his century. Delhi finished the day with a score of 468/2 on the board. They bowled out Meghalaya for a total of 260.
How Aaryavir Sehwag can win a Ferrari?
Virender Sehwag will have to gift his son a Ferrari should he score more than 319 runs in this innings. At the time of his felicitation ceremony at his home ground, in 2015, Sehwag had said that he would gift a Ferrari to any of his sons who breaks his 319-run record. Sehwag played a historic 319-run knock in the Multan Test match against Pakistan.
"Yes, my kids know I have made some humongous scores in Test cricket. So I have told them, if you cross that 319-run mark even in school cricket, I will present you a Ferrari," he said to Harsha Bhogle.
Sehwag retired from international cricket in October 2015 and was felicitated by the BCCI before the start of the fourth Test match between India and South Africa. Sehwag took up coaching and commentary after his retirement. He hasn't coached an IPL team since 2018.
