virat kohli & rohit sharma engages in freestyle football, old video goes viral : watch

India superstars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are arguably two of the greatest cricketers ever to grace the game. Both have been growing strong in their late 30s and it looks like they are not going to stop anytime soon. Even though both have retired from the T20I format after guiding the Men in Blue to their 2nd ever World T20I title in June, 2024.

They might have ruled world cricket for years but their love for football cannot be denied. Kohli is a big-time Cristiano Ronaldo and Germany fan and Zinedine Zidane fan, Rohit Sharma is the present La Liga ambassador to India, the top-flight division of football in Spain.

Cricket fans already have an idea of their football prowess as they have participated in many charity football matches before with Bollywood actors. Football is a warm-up tool for the Indian cricketers during training sessions and one such old video has gone viral on the social media, where Rohit and Virat are engaged in keep-ups.

The video is from the ODI World Cup 2023, where India lost the summit clash against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Specially, Kohli has a good understanding of the game and it is evident from the video, the way he is comfortably using his head and legs like a true pro.

As of now, both the Indian stars are on a break after the 2-0 Test series win over Bangladesh in September. Both of them didn't have the best of series individually but still on any given day, they can hurt any opposition they want.

As both of them retired from the T20I format, quite naturally they are not part of the T20I series against Bangladesh. India have already taken a 1-0 lead following a comprehensive 7-wicket win on Sunday, October 6.

The India veterans will be next seen in action during the New Zealand series at home, which starts from 16th October.
