A rare moment between the two actresses occurred at the 2015 Star Screen Awards when Amitabh Bachchan won the award for Best Actor for his role in Deepika Padukone-starrer Piku.
What made this event even more memorable was Rekha's surprising gesture towards Jaya Bachchan. As Big B's name was announced as the winner, both Jaya and Amitabh rose from their seats. While the actor made his way to the dais to accept the award, Rekha, who was seated a bit further away, suddenly ran towards Jaya and hugged her. The two then stood side by side, watching as Amitabh accepted the prestigious award.
