Vijay’s GOAT Earns Rs 126 Crore Worldwide On Its Opening day

Vijay's film The Greatest of All Time, also known as GOAT, was released in theatres on Thursday, and as per expectation, the film has become the biggest Tamil opener of the year. AGS Entertainment, the film’s makers announced that Vijay’s penultimate film before he joins politics earned Rs 126.3 crore worldwide gross on day 1.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 43 crore net in India. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT was released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. On day 1, GOAT surpassed Indian 2’s opening day numbers, which stood at Rs 25.6 crore, however the film could not manage to overtake the opening day numbers of Vijay’s last film, Leo. One of the biggest hits of 2023, Vijay’s Leo made Rs 63 crore nett on its opening day.

GOAT Earns Rs 126 Crore

As per Sacnilk, GOAT saw an overall 76.23 percent occupancy in the Tamil version. In Chennai, the film had 1003 shows and witnessed an incredible 99 percent occupancy. In Bengaluru, where it had 1140 shows, the occupancy was at 60 percent.

Meanwhile, Sacnilk has reported that the film has made around Rs 46 crores in Tamil Nadu on day 1.

Apart from Vijay, GOAT also stars Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prabhudeva, Mohan, and Jayaram in prominent roles. Venkat Prabhu's frequent collaborators Vaibhav, Premgi, Ajai Raj, and Aravind Akash are also a part of the film.

GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu, has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, editing by Venkat Raajen, art direction by Rajeevan, and action choreography by Dileep Subbarayan. Kalpathi S Aghoram has produced the film under the AGS Entertainment banner, with Archana Kalpathi as the creative producer.

The film was released in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu, with Zee Studios distributing it across North Indian states in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
