Hyderabad: A major fire broke in an illegal firecrackers shop near Pragati Maha Vidyalaya, Hanuman Tekdi in Hyderabad on Sunday evening. Two women have been shifted to a hospital, one of them received some burn injuries. Apart from them, several men have also sustained some burn injuries. Meanwhile, seven-eight cars parked at the site have been completely bruned down. Fire Brigade has reached the spot to douse the fire.
A video of the incident showed that a stampede-like situation occurred when the fire broke out. The fire completely engulfed the shop within minutes of being sparked. As it can be seen in the video that the fire errupted from inside the store. After which, the gathering started running outside the shop. At the entrance, people who were visiting the shop for buying crackers gathered.
As people were struggling to protect themselves, a stampede occurred. This led to injuries to many people present there. However, the injured people have been taken to the hospital.

The cause of the fire yet unknown, but the police have registered case against the shop owner for setting up the shop without obtaining due permission.
