Delhi: Veteran journalist Umesh Upadhyay, brother of BJP leader Satish Upadhyay, tragically died on September 1 after falling from a height at an under-construction site in Vasant Kunj, Delhi. The incident occurred around 10:30 AM when Umesh Upadhyay, 64, was inspecting the renovation work at his house in C-8, Vasant Kunj. During the inspection, he accidentally fell from the 4th floor to the 2nd floor, sustaining severe head and other injuries.
He was rushed to the Indian Spinal Centre in Vasant Kunj at approximately 11:00 AM. Despite medical efforts, Umesh Upadhyay succumbed to his injuries later that day. Delhi Police received information from the hospital about his admission at 2:48 PM.
The police have initiated proceedings under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), and a post-mortem examination is underway to determine the exact cause of death. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.

A teenager was critically injured in South Delhi's Neb Sarai area after being attacked by seven boys armed with knives. Police reported that Yash was stabbed eight times and is currently in critical condition at a hospital.
The incident occurred on Friday, following a road rage confrontation that happened the day before. The deceased, who used to live in Raju Park, was attacked by the group of minors over the altercation, according to PTI.
A case has been filed under section 109(1)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and all seven juveniles involved in the attack have been arrested. The police have also recovered four knives used in the stabbing.
The conflict started on Thursday when the victim and his friends were standing on Deoli Road. Two boys on a motorcycle suddenly braked, prompting him and his friends to confront them. On Saturday, the two boys, along with five others, sought revenge and attacked the victim multiple times.
