A cruise line known as Villa Vie Residences has a solution for those who want to leave the United States after the outcomes of the 2024 presidential election. The cruise line announced that the Villa Vie Odyssey ship would now allow passengers to embark on a journey for as long as four years. So, any US passengers unhappy with Donald Trump's win in the recent election can travel on the cruise that visits 14o countries and return home when a new president gets elected in 2028.
The "Skip Forward" package of the Villa Vie Odyssey lasts four years and travels to all seven continents. With said, the trip won't be free of cost. The single rooms start at $255,999, whereas the double rooms start at $319,998. The cruise comes with a fitness center, spa and all-inclusive food and drinks.

The trip gives travelers "flexibility to escape traffic jams, politics, and the monotony of city life," a spokesperson for Villa Vie Residences told Business Insider.

If passengers opt to leave their home country for 2 years, they can buy the "Mid-Term Selection" package. The single room costs, $150,399 and $187,998 for double room. The passengers opting for a two-year voyage would be gone until 2026, when US midterm elections are scheduled to take place.
In addition to the previous packages, the cruise line also offers "Escape from Reality," a one year trip priced at $79,999 and "Everywhere but Home," a three-year trip priced at $207,999.
The cruise first set sail in September on a three and a half year journey after remaining docked in Belfast for over three months. This was due to a mechanical issue, according to Business Insider.
A Maui couple decided to move in May to travel on the Odyssey. However , Lanette Canen and Johan Bodin had to end up living in the UK for the summer while they waited for the ship to sail.
"It's a start-up and we've both run businesses-we both know there will be hiccups when starting something so we weren't that worried," Bodin told CNN.
the couple added that they paid $100,000 for their own cabin that would be valid for the ship's predicted 15-year lifetime. They were also charged a monthly fee of $3500 to be on the ship.
