Patna: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday filed a third chargesheet in the UGC-NEET exam paper leak case. The CBI named 21 accused in this second supplementary chargesheet. So far, the federal probe agency named 40 accused in all the three chargesheets.
Saturday's chargesheet was in the court of special judge CBI-II in Patna. Among those who have been named in this chargesheet include Pankaj alias Aditya. Notably, Pankaj is one of the masterminds of the UGC NEET exam paper leak. He is accused of stealing the question paper from the trunk.
Pankaj got the question paper in connivance with the principal and vice principal of Oasis High School Hazaribagh (both arrested and chargesheeted) on May 5, 2024. Pankaj was arrested in July this year. Pankaj is also a pass out of NIT Jamshedpur and a civil engineer.
As per the sources, Pankaj, who stole the UG NEET question papers, gave it to solvers. During investigations, the agency identified the solvers. Among the solvers were the four AIIMS MBBS Patna students. They were questioned and arrested.
The examination was held on May 5 across 4,750 centres and around 24 lakh candidates appeared for it. Its results were expected to be declared on June 14 but were announced on June 4, apparently because the evaluation of the answer sheets was completed earlier.
