Tuhin Kanta Pandey Takes Over As Finance Secretary, TV Somanathan Becomes Cabinet Secretary

The Centre on Saturday appointed Tuhin Kanta Pandey, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, as the new Finance Secretary. He takes over from TV Somanathan, who has been named the new Cabinet Secretary, succeeding Rajiv Gauba in August.

Pandey, who previously served as the Secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), is a 1987-batch IAS officer from the Odisha cadre. He has been with DIPAM since October 2019.
