donald trump's townhall gaffes spark reactions: 'president jd vance, not dementia don'

Donald Trump's Tuesday town hall in Pennsylvania turned bizarre as the 78-year-old decided to play music for 39 minutes and groove to it after an interruption was caused by two attendees requiring medical attention. The videos, which soon found their way into memes, sparked claims about the former president having dementia, and #DementiaDonald started trending. Some people went a step further to say that it would effectively mean JD Vance would become the de facto president, if Trump is elected.

"If Trump wins, President Vance is a certainty," one user wrote. "Trump’s DEMENTIA has been obvious for years. The P25 folks know. If Trump makes it to January, they will remove him with the 25th Amendment. That’s the plan."

"When Donald Trump goes to prison and is admitted to an elderly care facility for convicts, we’re going to find out just how mentally impaired he truly is," said another user.

Held in Oaks, Pennsylvania, and hosted by South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, the town hall was interrupted twice by medical emergencies with attendees on two separate occasions. After the second emergency, the former president stopped the question and answer session and had a conversation with Noem about the venue being hot.

As per an Associated Press report, Trump asked Noem about why there was no air conditioning at the venue, to which the Governor replied that people can't afford it in the current economy. Then, he started the 39-minute music session, and then end of which he made some brief comments.

“Those two people who went down are patriots,” Trump said. “We love them. And because of them, we ended up with some great music, right?”
