Since its debut in 2019, the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 has made a notable impact within Triumph's Modern Classic lineup, distinguished by its dynamic performance and sporty design. Triumph is set to enhance this model further with the introduction of the Speed Twin 1200 RS variant.

While specific details about the Speed Twin 1200 RS remain limited, the teaser images offer some insights into the upcoming model. Notably, the RS variant will be available in a range of new color options. The bike showcased in the images features a vibrant orange paint scheme with contrasting black and white stripes adorning the lower portion of the fuel tank. The designation "RS" is prominently displayed on the bottom left of the fuel tank, distinguishing it from the standard Speed Twin 1200.

In terms of mechanical specifications, the 1200cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine is anticipated to deliver an increase in power compared to the standard model. While the standard bike produces 98.6bhp, the RS variant is expected to see this figure rise to approximately 103bhp. The torque output is likely to remain consistent at 112Nm. The engine will continue to be paired with a six-speed gearbox.

The standard Speed Twin 1200 already includes a robust specification, such as a non-adjustable 43mm Marzocchi USD fork, Brembo M50 brake calipers, Metzeler Racetec RR tires, and a powerful 1,200cc parallel-twin engine generating 100 horsepower and 112Nm of torque. The RS variant is anticipated to enhance these features with upgraded components and may incorporate the Thruxton's engine, which delivered 105 horsepower.

Despite the Thruxton's departure, there remains a strong demand for a high-performance retro motorcycle. The Speed Twin 1200 RS is expected to fulfill this niche. Given the advanced nature of the RS model as indicated by the teaser, its official release is likely forthcoming. With Bajaj handling the distribution of Triumph's full range in India, the Speed Twin 1200 RS is expected to be available in the Indian market soon. The RS variant, featuring additional premium equipment, is anticipated to be priced higher than the standard Speed Twin 1200, which is currently listed at Rs 11.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
