Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for the weekend as the city braces for two major events—the Radha Soami Satsang congregation and Diljit Dosanjh’s concert tour. Thousands of attendees are expected to gather, with traffic arrangements put in place to ease congestion and ensure smooth flow.
Heavy Footfall Expected at Religious and Concert Events
Between October 25 and 27, the Radha Soami congregation is expected to draw nearly 3-4 lakh devotees, including several VIPs and dignitaries. Meanwhile, over 60,000 people are anticipated at Diljit Dosanjh’s concert performances this Saturday and Sunday. Both events will see an extensive turnout, leading the Delhi Traffic Police to implement traffic restrictions, diversions, and advisory measures for the weekend.
Key Traffic Guidelines
1. Entry to Satsang Complex: Devotees attending the Radha Soami Satsang can enter the complex through Bhati Mines Road.
2. Parking: There will be adequate parking available within the Satsang complex itself, and vehicles will not be permitted to park on SSN Marg.
3. Road Restrictions: Heavy vehicles will be restricted from Bhati Mines Road between Chattarpur Road (SSN Marg) and Gurgaon Road T-Point from 4:00 am to 6:30 pm.
4. Traffic Diversions: Heavy vehicles will be diverted via Mandi Road-Jona Pur cut to Mehrauli-Gurugram Road and near Mallu Farm on Bhati Mines Road toward Joan Pur Mehrauli-Gurugram Road.
5. Emergency Vehicles: Ambulances, fire brigade, and other emergency vehicles will have free access to these roads.
Police Advisory for the Public
Delhi Traffic Police has advised the public to plan their journeys with potential congestion in mind. They have encouraged commuters to use public transport, follow directions from traffic personnel, remain patient, and observe traffic regulations. Real-time traffic updates can be accessed on the Delhi Traffic Police website (traffic.delhipolice.gov.in) and on their social media platforms (@dtptraffic on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
Diljit Dosanjh’s India Tour Kicks Off
Following an extensive US and Europe tour, Diljit Dosanjh is set to perform at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi over the weekend before heading to other cities including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore. Dosanjh also recently announced his involvement in Border 2, a sequel focusing on the Battle of Longewala alongside actors Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, with filming slated to start in November.
With careful planning, police efforts, and public cooperation, the Delhi Traffic Police aims to minimise the weekend’s traffic disruptions during these large-scale events.
