At least 30 people were injured after a train derailed at Dal Josafat station in Paarl, South Africa, on Tuesday.
“Multiple services responded on DFW emergency groups and dispatched resources,” Drakenstein Farm Watch (DFW), private fire responders in the Western Cape, said in a statement.

Rescue activities have been carried out on the ground by the Drakenstein Disaster Management Team.
Multiple emergency organizations responded to a plea for urgent help at 6:41 p.m., according to the Drakenstein Farm Watch (DFW), a private firefighting organization in the Western Cape.
The DWV said in its most recent Facebook post that no fatalities have been recorded and that the injured who were trapped were freed by rescuers.
As of this moment, the cause of the derailment remains a mystery.
In a different event, Transnet Freight Rail OCC Tactical Volume Planning reported on May 18 that a train derailed at Vreihed, South Africa, resulting in the shutdown of both rail lines operating on the route.
