Both the Diwali releasesBhoola Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again are hits, the former leading in many centres.
However, the collections are now slackening in several centres, especially for Rohit Shetty’sSingham Again which has seemingly disappointed audiences for its pale plotline and frail climax. In fact, we have it from an insider in the team that Shetty is very upset with his writing team.
“The next Singham film will have a stronger writing team on board,” says the source.
In the meanwhile, both the Diwali releases have a clear window this week with no new release on the anvil.
Exhibitors are now expecting the Varun Tej starrer Matka, which opens on November 14, to make a sizeable dent in the Diwali releases.

Says Bihar exhibitor Roshan Singh, “I feel the best for both the Diwali releases is behind them. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 still has some way to go. But Singham Again is dropping. There are two big Telugu releases on November 14, Matka and Kanguva, starring two of the top Telugu heroes (Varun Tej and Suriya). Matka is looking more stylizsd and interesting. Since it is releasing in Telugu and Hindi, it’s bound to create an impact in the Hindi belt.”
Varun Tej, who helms Matka, says he is not looking at denting any other release. “I truly believe that a good film runs no matter what the competition. And we have made a good film. We are confident of its success. I don’t want only my film to succeed, I also want Kanguva to succeed.”
