Vettaiyan is all set to hit screens on October 10, and fans are thrilled to witness Superstar’s on the big screen.
Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan is said to be a cop drama that’s high on emotions and action. The film has caught significant hype because it stars Rajinikanth along with legendary star Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil and Rana Dauggubati.
In a recent interview, TJ Gananvel opened up about casting big names in the film.
In an interview TJ Gnanavel stated the reason behind casting iconic stars Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan in the film.
He said "Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan were cast together, purely because the story demanded it. When I approached Fahadh Faasil and Rana Dauggubati they asked me why they were required in the film when two legends are already there in it, to which I said the story needs these actors. This is a multi starrer. Casting all these actors isn't for business purpose, but it's done for the story. "
Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan’s reunion after 33 years in Vettaiyan
After close to three decades, Vettaiyan marks the reunion of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan on the big screen. The two iconic actors previously appeared together in films like Andha Kanoon (1983), Geraftaar (1985), and Hum (1991). Since Hum, the two actors haven’t worked together, making director TJ Ganavel’s Vettaiyan a highly anticipated film for fans of the superstars.

About Vettaiyan
As per reports, Rajinikanth will be essaying the role of a retired police officer in the film.
Apart from its lead cast, Vettaiyan will also feature actors Rao Ramesh, Rakshan, Rohini, Kishore Kumar G, Ramesh Thilak and GM Sundar.
The film’s music has been composed by music Anirudh Ravichander and the cinematography by SR Kathir.
