Noted actor and writer Prakash Belawadi said that theatre remains a safer and more supportive medium than Kannada cinema at present.

Also, a popular theatre personality, the veteran actor and director, Prakash Belawadi was speaking at the launch of the song from the film Signal Man 1971.

“Audiences are not frequenting cinemas to watch Kannada films but theatre still enjoys support,” he said, hoping that the film industry would soon regain this supportive atmosphere.

Mysuru MP and scion of the erstwhile Mysuru royal family, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar launched the songs of Signal Man 1971.

The film is set against the backdrop of the Indo-Bangla war. It revolves around two main characters, as Prakash Belawadi urged the audience to support the film by watching it in cinemas.

Based on Charles Dickens novel

Director K. Shivarudraiah said that the story is based on a novel by Charles Dickens that mentions a historic connection to the Mysore Lancers, a team sent by the then Maharaja of Mysore during the Great War to support the European army.

The film includes a song commemorating the victory at Haifa, which was released in Mysuru by the royal family, marking a significant moment for the production team.

Shivarudraiah shared the challenges faced during the shoot including filming on a railway station set on the Ooty railway line, where they had to contend with frequent train arrivals and difficult weather conditions.

Maharaja Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar, who released the song, spoke about the legacy of the Mysore state's Maharaja from a century ago, expressing his pleasure in showcasing it through the film.

The songMysuru Namma Arasara Mysuru… written by Baraguru Ramachandrappa is composed by ouseppachan to which Vijayaprakash and Pallavi have performed.

The film is produced by B.V. Ganesh Prabhu under the banner Hindustan Mukta Media Entertainer and features theatre actors Venkatesh Prasad, Rajesh Nataranga, and others in pivotal roles.
