From Prime Minister Narendra Modi praising the film to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attending a screening with the cast, it has been making headlines since its release. With support from prominent politicians and tax-free status in several states, one would expect the Ektaa Kapoor-backed film to experience growth at the box office. However, despite this backing, it has continued to see a decline in numbers.

The Sabarmati Report once again saw a drop in its box office earnings on Day 8. It minted just Rs 1.01 crore. This took its total box office collection to Rs 12.51 crore.

The Sabarmati Report Cast Meets Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday met the star cast of the film, along with producer Ekta Kapoor and director Dheeraj Sarna. After the meeting, he wrote, "Met the team of #TheSabarmatiReport and congratulated them for their courage to narrate the truth. The film exposes the lies and the misleading facts to unveil the truth that was suppressed for a long time to meet political interests."
