Prince William has been concerned over the whereabouts of diamonds that once belonged to his late mother, Princess Diana, as per the reports. However, these precious gems were incorporated into Meghan Markle’s engagement ring, given to her by Prince Harry in 2017, reported Scottish Daily Express.
The ring, which features two of Diana’s diamonds alongside a central stone from Botswana, has since been altered. Originally, Prince Harry designed it with a simple gold band, but less than two years later, Meghan debuted a modified version with a thinner band during the 2019 Trooping the Colour event.
Recently, Meghan has been spotted without the ring during key public appearances, such as a gala event in May and the Invictus Games last month. It has been suggested that the ring was “being fixed,” but the absence of the piece has stirred up concerns. According to a report by New Idea magazine, cited by The Mirror and Express US, Prince William, now 41, is becoming increasingly uneasy about the missing jewels, which are considered valuable family heirlooms.
This growing anxiety is fueled by existing tensions between William, his brother Harry, and sister-in-law Meghan, who have publicly addressed issues with the Royal Family, particularly in a docuseries released last year.
As per the Scottish Daily Express, Meghan’s engagement ring has "disappeared" and was notably absent at a recent event in Germany, causing speculation. The report stated that Meghan would usually wear the ring “proudly,” and its absence has led to concern within the Royal Family.
Quoting a source, the Scottish Daily Express reported, "It’s safe to say it has set off alarm bells at the Palace," the source explained, adding that William has been discreetly seeking information through mutual friends to find out what happened to the diamonds. "Not knowing where they are is disturbing for William."
William, known to be deeply protective of his mother’s legacy, holds Diana’s jewellery close to his heart. The media reports further stated, citing the source that the memories of his mother wearing these pieces are something William cherishes and will never forget.
