The Deliverance, releasing on Netflix today, blends horror with melodrama. Inspired by the Ammons haunting case, the horror flick Andra Day with Rob Morgan, Caleb McLaughlin, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Tasha Smith, Omar Epps, Mo'Nique, and Glenn Close in the lead.
The film revolves around Ebony, an alcoholic mother of a Pennsylvania family. Amid supernatural activities at a farmhouse, her children are demonically possessed. Based on an alleged real-life incident, The Deliverance draws its story from a 2011 case where evil spirits had supposedly taken control over members of a family.
