Bengaluru: A “verbal assault” took place between an autorickshaw driver and two women in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The driver allegedly abused, threatened and slapped one of the women who had cancelled a booking with the auto rikshaw driver. A video of the incident has also surfaced, which showed how the accused bullied the girl for cancelling a cab ride with him, and abused her in Kannada language. During the argument, the accused asked the woman in Hindi that if her father pays for fuel.
The girl argued that the auto rikshaw drivers often cancel rides, and she had to withdraw the request because her friend had already booked a cab that arrived earlier. In a series of tweets on X, formerly Twitter, she said, "Yesterday in Bangalore, my friend & I booked two autos on Ola due to peak hours. I arrived first, so she canceled hers. The other auto driver followed us, furious. Despite explaining the situation, he started shouting and hurling abuses."
To which, the accused Auto rickshaw driver said that she wasted her fuel. The woman responded, "You were just one kilometer away. It usually happens that auto rikshaw drivers cancel upon the riders".
“How can you cancel my ride by a mistake? Does your father pay for the gas? How long did I wait here and you just chose to sit in another auto.” The situation got stressed even more when the woman threatened him to go to the police, and the driver challengingly said, “Come, let us go to the police. Do you think you can scare me?”
