Telangana: A 20-year-old man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly raped a class 7 student in a village in Siddipet district, Telangana. Later, the survivour’s family, along with other villagers set the house of the accused on fire.
The accused, according to the PTI report, entered the house of the minor girl when she was alone and allegedly sexually assaulted her. Enraged by this, villagers "attacked" the accused's house and "set it on fire."

The girl's family filed a police complaint, following which an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita(BNS) and POSCO Act. Based on the complaint, the accused was arrested and sent to judicial custody, said senior police official.

The girl was sent for a medical examination at a government hospital. Later, cops recorded the statement of the survivour and her parents. An official said, "A man in the village posted about the incident on social media platforms." The post sparked massive outrage, leading to the formation of a group by some villagers, who then set the man's house ablaze and "damaged" a car.
Police have registered cases against them as well. The cops managed to disperse the crowd, bringing the law & order under control. The survivour's family has demanded strict action against the accused.
