The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday said that a rocket from Lebanon struck an open area near Tel Aviv, causing a loud explosion that was heard several miles away. The explosion did not trigger a warning as it did not pose a threat to structures or residents. No injuries were reported in the explosion, the IDF confirmed.

Israel said Monday it had intercepted at least five drones near the Mediterranean Sea before they entered Israeli territory. One of the drones aimed at the area near the Ben Guiron Airport was also intercepted and there was no security concern in the area. “There is no concern for a security incident in the area of Ben Gurion Airport,” the IDF said in the statement.
