Dindigul, Tamil Nadu: Hours after reports surfaced that a nursing student from Theni was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by unidentified men while she was travelling from her hometown to Dindigul, an investigation was conducted, and a case was registered, in which no evidence of abduction or harassment was found. The student has been found to have filed a false complaint due to mental stress, said Dindigul District Police.
The victim was admitted to Dindigul Government Medical College and Hospital.
The nursing student alleged that the accused left her near the Dindigul Railway Station, where she sought help from the police, Dindigul District Superintendent of Police, Pradeep, said on Monday.

Meanwhile, a case was registered under sections 70 and 87 of the BNS Act.
