The selectors are likely to manage Shubman's workload and he could be rested. He was recently named India's white-ball vice-captain. The position could be left vacant for the Bangladesh T20I series.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is unlikely to be rested and is expected to play the T20I series as well. Ruturaj Gaikwad could make his comeback to the T20I team along with Abhishek Sharma. Abhishek made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe but was dropped for the Sri Lanka tour.
Middle-order
Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh will bat in the middle-order. Suryakumar recently suffered a hand injury while playing in the Buchi Babu cricket tournament and got ruled out of the first round of the Duleep Trophy. But there is no question mark over his participation in the Bangladesh T20I series. It though has impacted his chances of making a Test comeback.

Hardik Pandya is set to retain his place. It will be interesting to see if he is named the vice-captain for the series. Hardik looked all but set to replace Rohit Sharma as the T20I captain after the 2024 T20 World Cup but he was surprisingly pipped by Suryakumar. He wasn't even named the vice-captain.
Shivam Dube, Riyan Parag and Washington Sundar are likely to retain their spots in the T20I team. Axar Patel could be rested as he will be part of the Test team.
Wicketkeeper
Sanju Samson will be an automatic pick for the T20I series. Rishabh Pant might not play the T20I series as he will be part of the long Test season. Rishabh played all matches in the T20 WC while Samson remained on the bench.
Bowlers
The selectors could recall Yuzvendra Chahal for the T20I series and he is likely to partner Ravi Bishnoi. Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar and Arshdeep Singh are likely to be the three pacers in the team. Avesh Khan could come in for Mukesh or Arshdeep if any of these two is rested.
Jasprit Bumrah has been on a break since the 2024 T20 World Cup final and he isn't expected to play any fixture against Bangladesh. The senior pacer will surely participate in the Test series against New Zealand.
