Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 40: Even after emerging as the biggest movie of 2024, Stree 2 refuses to slow down. The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer is currently in its sixth week.
Stree 2 attained a huge feat on Monday by becoming the first Hindi film to cross Rs 600 crore and thus opening up a new box office club in Bollywood. Now, according to trade expert Taran Adarsh, the Amar Kaushik directorial added another Rs 1.50 crore in its kitty on its Day 40, taking its nett total to Rs 605.72 crore (India business). Adarsh however added that the upcoming movie Devara is set to pose competition for Stree 2.

Stree 2 journey to success
Stree 2 released on August 15, clashing with Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. While the other two sank in barely a week or two, Stree 2 continued its highly successful run breaking records with each passing day.
Also starring Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Pankaj Tripathi , Stree 2 is the second outing in the franchise that debuted in 2018 with Stree kicking off Maddock’s Supernatural Universe. It takes the story forward post the events of its first part. In Stree 2 the small town of Chanderi gets threatened by Sarkata who abducts young girls for his own selfish interest.

Shraddha's character returns and reunites with Rajkummar and the gang to take down the demon and rescue the abducted girls. The movie also had Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia in special appearances, apart from Varun Dhawan who reprises his Bhasker from Bhediya, another movie in producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy series.

Stree 2 has received not just a thumbs-up from critics and audience, but even industry biggies. From Hrithik Roshan to Yash Raj Films, many have lauded the movie for reviving the ticketing windows.
Speaking about Stree 2‘s mega success, Abhishek told Zoom, “What matters is the vision, the kind of effort and hard work we put in. And if everybody in the unit is aligned to make a big film, no matter what the cost, I think it becomes a special film.”
