sourav ganguly lodges complaint against bengali youtuber for cyberbullying : check deets

Sourav Ganguly, ex India captain has filed a complaint against a Bengali YouTuber for disparaging him and using offensive language in one of his social media videos. The individual in question, Mrinmoy Das, also known as Cinebap, is accused of using Ganguly's images, videos, and comments related to the recent rape and murder case of a doctor in Kolkata.

The secretary of the legendary cricketer filed the complaint and included a link to the video in question.

"I am writing to bring to your attention a case of cyberbullying and defamation involving a person named Mrinmoy Das. This individual has posted a video on a social media platform that targets Sourav Ganguly, using abusive language and making derogatory remarks, which are harmful to his reputation'', the secretary, Taniya Bhattacharya wrote.

"The context of the video constitutes not only an attack on Ganguly but also violates the dignity and respect that every individual is entitled to. We request your intervention in this matter and kindly ask that appropriate legal action be taken against Das for defaming and bullying Ganguly in this manner. We trust that the cyber department will take swift and necessary steps to address this issue and ensure that justice is served," she further added.

"We have received an email and are looking into it," a police officer said on the matter.

This event underscores the increasing worries about online harassment and the need to tackle cyberbullying in today's digital world.

Ganguly faced backlash for his remarks about the tragic incident that occurred on August 8 at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. Last month, he also organized a candlelight vigil in the city with his wife Dona and daughter Sana to call for justice for the victim.

Meanwhile, the 52-year-old, currently serving as the Director of Cricket for Delhi Capitals, has shown a desire to take on the head coach position, although there are some hesitations within the team’s management. With the IPL 2025 Auction on the horizon, DC are keen to assemble a robust squad for the forthcoming season.
