Former President Donald Trump has called for Vice President Kamala Harris to take a cognitive test after her campaign questioned his fitness for office and criticized him for not releasing detailed medical records.
In a post on X, Trump wrote, "I believe it is very important that Kamala Harris pass a test on Cognitive Stamina and Agility. Her actions have led many to believe that there could be something very wrong with her."
The 78-year-old former president referenced a claim that "60 Minutes" edited an answer Harris gave about Israel in a recent interview. While the network aired her full response in an online preview clip, it reportedly showed a shortened version during the full broadcast.
"Even 60 Minutes and CBS, in order to protect Lyin' Kamala, illegally and unscrupulously replaced an answer she had given, which was totally “bonkers,” with another answer that had nothing to do with the question asked. Also, she is slow and lethargic in answering even the easiest of questions. We just went through almost four years of that, we shouldn’t have to do it again!" Trump wrote on Monday.
On Saturday, Harris released her medical history, stating she is in "excellent health." Her campaign then called on Trump to release his medical records.
Additionally, more than 230 doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals signed a letter urging Trump to be transparent about his health, especially due to his age.
"Trump is falling concerningly short of any standard of fitness for office and displaying alarming characteristics of declining acuity," the 238 signatories wrote in a letter. "In the limited opportunities we can examine his behavior, he's providing a deeply concerning snapshot."
