shooters conducted recce of baba siddique's house & office, watched his every move for 2 months

Mumbai: The two suspects arrested by the Mumbai Police in killing of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique have been watching him for the last two months. Siddique was shot by three men in Mumbai’s Bandra East area on Saturday night. Two persons were arrested immediately after the incident that took place outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar.

As per the Mumbai Police, the two accused arrested are Karnail Singh, who hails from Haryana, and Dharamraj Kashyap who is from Uttar Pradesh. The accused had done recce of Baba Siddiqui's house and office premises. They were in Mumbai for one and a half to two months and were keeping an eye on him. The Police said that the accused were paid for the act in advance, adding that they had received arms delivery a few days ago.

The Police said that search for the third accused is on. Several teams of the Mumbai Crime Branch have been deployed for investigating the killing of Baba Siddique. Siddiqui, a three time-former MLA, had recently joined the NCP after quitting the Congress.

Cops Probing Multiple Angles

The two accused have told the police that they are part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. However, cops are still probing different angles as they feel that the accused are trying to deflect the attention from the main accused.

The Mumbai police are also probing other angles, including personal animosity and political killing, Times Now has learnt. Police officials are also looking into the possibility of involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Siddique shares close ties with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who has received threats from the Bishnoi gang over his alleged involvement in the 1999 Blackbuck poaching case.

Siddique was brought at Lilavati Hospital with no pulse, said the doctors. “He was brought at 9:30 pm in unresponsive condition with no pulse, no blood pressure with gun-shot wounds on the chest. He had lost a lot of blood. He was shifted to the ICU where further attempts at revival were done,” said Dr Niraj Uttamani of Lilavati Hospital.

Police on Sunday morning shifted former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique's body to the Mumbai municipal corporation's Cooper Hospital for postmortem. Siddique's burial will be held today at 8:30 om at Bada Kabarastan. CM Eknath Shinde vowed that strict action will be taken against the perpetrators.
