Established in March 2024, Bungalow has quickly risen to prominence in New York City's bustling dining scene. Located in the heart of the city, the restaurant has gathered a loyal following and earned acclaim, not only for its cuisine but for its homage to Indian traditions. Collaborating with restaurateur Jimmy Rizvi, Khanna designed Bungalow to bring the warmth and nostalgia of an Indian home. From its décor filled with heritage pieces, like family photos and Indian cookbooks, to its vibrant, authentic dishes, Bungalow provides the guests an experience reminiscent of India’s cultural heritage.
This restaurant has become a go-to destination for many celebrities, food critics as well as locals, establishing itself as one of the most sought-after reservations in NYC. This accomplishment places Bungalow among the ranks of other popular Indian restaurants making waves, like Dhamaka and Semma.
Inspired by recipes and memories close to his heart, he brings to life dishes that span India’s diverse states, from Delhi’s tangy Shakkarkandi Chaat to tender Lamb Seekh Kebabs complemented by pickled kumquat thecha. A tribute to Khanna’s late sister, Radhika, the restaurant incorporates her favorite flavours and traditional Indian elements that resonate with diners on a personal level. One signature dish on the menu is Ammi’s Lamb Chops. The dish is prepared with raw papaya, aamchur, and jaggery, and showcases the chef’s philosophy of letting high-quality ingredients shine without unnecessary additions into the recipe.
