Global Market Cues
Global markets were cautious as oil prices remained high due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East. Hezbollah launched rockets at Haifa, Israel’s third-largest city, while Israel appeared ready to expand its operations into Lebanon, marking one year since the Gaza war. These developments stoked fears of broader conflict, causing a rise in Brent crude futures, which surged above $80 per barrel for the first time in over a month. Brent crude was last up by 0.09 per cent, trading at $81 per barrel, with U.S. crude futures increasing to $77.25.
