There have been several tragic accidents at Saratoga Race Course recently.

Nobel's Injury: On August 26, 2023, a million-dollar colt named Nobel suffered a catastrophic injury during a race and was euthanized, becoming the 11th horse fatality of the Saratoga meet.

The Big Torpedo: During the 2024 meet, The Big Torpedo sustained a fatal injury in the Grade 3 Saranac Stakes, marking the first racing-related death of that season. Jockey Javier Castellano was also injured in the incident and taken to the hospital.

Travers Stakes Day: On a busy Travers Stakes Day, two horses died, leading the New York Racing Association to investigate the overall condition of the racing surfaces.

Saratoga Race Course is located at 267 Union Avenue, Saratoga Springs, New York, USA. This historic thoroughbred horse racing track is a popular destination, especially during its six-week summer meet from late July through early September.
