After the end of the two-match Test series, India and Bangladesh will lock horns in a three-match T20I series. The three games will be played on October 6, 9 and 12 in Gwalior, Delhi and Hyderabad, respectively. Since the India-New Zealand Test series starts just four days after the India-Banglaldesh T20Is, the Test regulars might not be part of the T20I series.
Once again, India are set to have a second-string squad at the helm. Suryakumar Yadav will be leading India in the home series. India might not have a vice-captain for the series. As the fans wait for the squad announcement, here we have a look at India's 15-member team for the Bangladesh T20I series –
Openers
Sanju Samson is likley to retain his spot in the T20I team but he might have to open the innings. He could be the sole wicketkeeper in the squad. Samson has opened the innings in past and could be handed the job once again.
With Ruturaj Gaikwad busy playing Irani Cup, the selectors could pick either Shubman Gill or Yashasvi Jaiswal for the opening T20I. They aren't expected to play the complete series and will be rested before the New Zealand Tests. Ruturaj Gaikwad is expected to make his return from the second game. Abhishek Sharma could be the third opener in the team.
Middle-order
Suryakumar Yadav will lead India in the T20I series. He pipped Hardik Pandya for the leadership role and took over India's T20I captaincy from Rohit Sharma. Rinku Singh will retain his spot in the squad.
All-rounders
India's squad for the Bangladesh T20I series could be full of all-rounders. Hardik Pandya will make his return to competitive cricket in the T20I series. Shivam Dube, Riyan Parag and Washington Sundar could be the other three all-rounders in the team.
Bowlers
Arshdeep Singh is all but confirmed to lead the pace attack, which is likely to include Harshit Rana, Avesh Khan and Harshit Rana. Harshit has been part of Team India in white-ball cricket but is uncapped. Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi will share the spin-bowling duties.
