Noted film producer Boney Kapoor had earlier revealed that his father Surinder Kapor was brought to Mumbai by legendary filmmaker Prithviraj Kapoor. He lived in the outhouse of Raj Kapoor's mansion with his wife Nirmal before moving to an apartment in Mumbai. Actor Sanjay Kapoor, youngest brother of Boney, has recalled living in a 2 BHK residence in Chembur.
Sanjay Kapoor talks about living in two-bedroom-hall apartment
In a recent interview, Sanjay fondly recalled his childhood days spent in a modest apartment, where he lived with his siblings—Boney, Anil, and Reema Kapoor. He reminisced about the simple living conditions they endured during that time, sharing how the family would often sleep on mattresses spread out in the living room due to the limited space. Sanjay spoke about the close bond they shared.
During a chat withTimeout With Ankit, Sanjay said, “We lived in a two-bedroom-hall apartment in Chembur. After my grandmother passed away, my grandfather came to stay with us, taking over the room I shared with Reena. We were already close-knit, but his arrival brought us even closer. We’d sleep on mattresses in the living room. We only had one AC in the house, which was in my mom and dad’s room, so I’d sometimes sleep on the sofa in their room at night.”
He also spoke about how his parents made sure they received the best education and food. They sacrificed their own desires to send the entire family abroad.
