According to a report in the indianexpress.com, RX Murali, under whose tutelage Samit played cricket for Mysore Warriors, the youngster is a down-to-earth and calm individual who handles pressure with ease. His performances on the field have been impressive, with both his batting and bowling skills drawing applause.
According to Murali, Samit has the talent and penchant for playing elegant strokes. He especially cited the lofted cover drive and pull shot as the ones to watch out for. Another is the inside-out lofted cover drive. This shot requires skill, timing, and audacity, demonstrating Samit's ability to play unconventional shots with confidence.
“It’s the way his hands move through the line of the ball that stood out for me. His head and feet position, too. He is very aggressive and brave in his mindset. It’s the approach that had his team-mates here go ‘wow’ at some of his shots," Murali was quoted as saying.
"He has quite a few shots actually beyond the clips you might have all seen — the cover drive where he leans well into the shot, the straight drive, the pull of course and the ability to hit the lofted shots. To turn the conventional shots into aerial, like the inside-out aerial cover drive," he added.
