Samantha Ruth Prabhu has reacted to Telangana's Minister for Forest and Endowments Konda Surekha’s comments on her divorce from Naga Chaitanya. The actress issued a statement and shared it on her Instagram stories.
Samantha reacts to allegations
In her statement, Samantha wrote, “To be a woman, to come out and work, to survive in a glamorous industry where women are more often than not treated as props, to fall in love & to fall out of love, to still stand up and fight… It takes a lot of courage and strength.”
Criticising Konda Surekha for her remarks, the actress said, “I am proud of what this journey turned me into—please don’t trivialise it. I hope you realise that your words carry significant weight as a minister. I implore you to be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy.”

Samantha further added that her and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce was mutual consent and a private matter. “My divorce is a personal matter, and I request that you refrain from speculating about it. Our choice to keep things private doesn’t invite misrepresentation. To clarify: my divorce was mutual consent and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved. Could you please keep my name out of political battles? I have always remained non-political and wish to continue doing so,” she shared.
Nagarjuna's reaction
Earlier, Naga Chaitanya’s father, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna reacted to Konda Surekha’s remarks against the ex-couple. Condemning her comments, he wrote on X, “I strongly condemn the comments of the Honorable Minister Mrs. Konda Surekha. Don't use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect other people's privacy. As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to withdraw your comments immediately.”

At a press conference, Surekha accused BRS working president KT Rama Rao of being the reason behind Samantha and Chaitanya’s divorce. She said, “KTR is 100% responsible for Samantha-Naga Chaitanya’s divorce. He demanded that Samantha be sent to him in return for not demolishing the N-Convention. Nagarjuna asked Samantha to go him but she refused to go. So they asked her to leave, that’s how the divorce happened.”
Naga Chaitanya married Samantha Ruth Prabhu in 2017. After four years of marriage, they announced their separation in October 2021.
