The IPL 2025 will be an exciting season, especially with the return of the mega auction for the first time since 2022. The auction is set to take place on November 24 (Sunday) and 25 (Monday) at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. One of the teams that everyone will have their eyes on is Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). They would aim to build a squad in the auction that would finally break their IPL trophy drought that has lasted for 17 years. They have retained just three players and have Rs 83 crore left in their purse, the second highest in the auction after Punjab Kings.
RCB have retained Virat Kohli for Rs 21 crore, making him the first Indian to fetch over Rs 20 crore in IPL history. There have been reports that Kohli can even be made captain of RCB from next season onwards. The franchise have also retained Rajat Patidar for Rs 11 crore and an uncapped Yash Dayal for Rs 4 crore.
There have been reports that RCB could go for KL Rahul, as a homecoming for the Team India star could also mean that he might become captain. RCB would also be in the hunt for a spinner, which might see them go for the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar. It will be interesting to seen who RCB target in the auction.
